lowkey the main difference comes down to where you spend your energy. using generative tools for initial drafts is great for overcoming the blank page hurdle, but it lacks the deep nuance of a manual deep dive. manual research allows you to find those unobvious connections that an llm might miss during its training period.

relying too much on automated drafting can lead to generic, repetitive content that fails to engage experts . i prefer a hybrid workflow where i use tools to structure the outline but do all the heavy lifting for the actual insights. it keeps the quality high w/o sacrificing the speed of modern workflows.

the real danger is when u let the llm handle the primary source synthesis bc thats where the hallucinations start replacing actual evidence.
