I'm looking at this recent Q3 performance deck and the letter spacing is absolutely killing me. It's hard to focus on the actual growth metrics when the 'r' and 'e' in every header are practically touching. If you're going to present a win, at least fix the kerning so it doesn't look like a total amateur job.

I've used the Kern Type web tool to train my eyes for stuff like this, but I haven't seen any data proving it actually helps with deck reviews. It works for quick spot checks on single slides, though it won't fix an entire ~~broken~~ messy presentation if the spacing is baked into the font settings.

The baked-in stuff is the worst part because you can't even override it without breaking the whole template. I had a designer send over a brand refresh last month where the tracking was so tight on the subheaders that 'minimum' looked like 'minium'. **I spent three hours manually adjusting text boxes

kern type is just a placebo. had a dev send me a landing page build last week and the tracking on the hero text was so tight i couldnt even read the headline. spent two hours ~~fixing~~ hunting for where the css property was hidden in some nested div. basically just made me want to quit.
