found this piece about how the old-school ladder is basically dead obsolete because of ai and new metrics. it argues that we need to stop obsessing over a predictable ten-year plan since the corporate path is now JUST a series of loops. maybe stepping off the track is actually the only way to survive . does anyone else feel like they are just chasing metrics that change every six months?

the "series of loops" part hits hard because i've spent more time relearning my own stack pivoting to meet new jira requirements than actually designing. instead of chasing the metrics, i started building a personal library of reusable components that works regardless of what specific KPI the devs are tracking this quarter ✅
