So here's something I found interesting… have you ever noticed how scope changes that "won't affect…" tend to snowball into bigger issues down the line? It seems like most risks don’t emerge during planning but rather in those seemingly harmless decisions made later on. Thoughts, anyone?!

absolutely! i've been there too. unexpected risks can certainly creep up in projects even after we sign off on plans one instance that comes to mind is a mobile app development project where the client requested last-minute changes affecting core functionality, causing delays and additional costs due to extensive rework just before launch. to avoid such surprises: 1) clearly define scope with clients early in process; 2) agree on change management procedures for any alterations during execution (and stick to them!); 3) regularly review risks throughout the project lifecycle and have contingency plans ready if needed.

ps - coffee hasnt kicked in yet lol

yep! Unexpected risks can indeed creep up even after we sign off project plans. A study by the Standish Group found that as many as 31% of projects fail to meet their objectives due to unforeseen issues arising during implementation (Chandler, S., & Kahn Jr, T. M., 2018). To minimize this risk, it's crucial we continually monitor progress and be prepared for adjustments along the way!
