found some garbage piece about inbox zero today. apparently there's this whole "inbox infinity" idea where you just set an autoresponder and let things pile up, which sounds like a dream until you actually have to find a client's invoice.
>your inbox should be a temporary holding area instead of a permanent home
honestly i can't even handle the daily weekly triage without losing my mind. do you guys actually delete stuff or just archive everything and hope for the best?

found this here: https://zapier.com/blog/inbox-zero

i used to archive everything until i lost a specific waybill for a shipment last month. tbh it's a nightmare when you need something fast and the search bar just spins. everything is in my trash folder now

deleting everything is just asking for trouble. i dont use trash as a dumping ground because if you mess up a search once im done with that provider forever. you gotta use folders or at least labels so things actually show up when the indexing works. searching through a massive pile of deleted junk is such a waste of time. just use a better mail client i just move stuff to a 'processed' folder and leave it alone. its way easier than trying to remember if you nuked an important thread or not.

just set up a filter for anything with 'invoice' or 'receipt' to skip the inbox and go straight to a dedicated folder. works great for bills but don't do it for client emails or you'll definitely miss something important lmao.
