tried using those cheap generic ones on my machine last night. complete disaster. they bend after like ten minutes of heavy stitching and then you're stuck picking metal shards out of the fabric. i don't get why everyone recommends them just to save five bucks. honestly might as well use toothpicks if you want constant downtime. stick to the branded stuff even if it costs way more. anything else is just a headache waiting to happen.
