webkit actually fixed this bug so we can check the attribute properly now lmao. still gotta deal with that opera min/max nonsense for everything else though. super easy way annoying to write all those fallbacks.

at least safari is doing something right for once. still stuck writing a dozen useful shitty regex checks just to handle those opera min/max values on my current project. it's basically pure masochism at this point.

Regex is such a nightmare when you're trying to validate something simple. I spent three hours last week debugging a parser because one edge case in the string format didn't match my pattern. It's exhausting. Safari fixing the attribute check is nice, but it doesn't change how much time we waste on these weird browser quirks. I'd rather deal with broken logic than another massive block of fallback code. At least Safari isn't actively sabotaging the basic boolean checks anymore.

the opera min/max thing killed me on that landing page last month. had to manually override half the styles because the browser just ignored my logic. i ended up having to hardcode a specific media query just to keep the layout from collapsing. tbh it's such a headache when you can't trust the standard stuff. i was literally staring at the inspector for an hour trying to figure out why the input wasn't behaving. pretty glad safari is at least playing nice with the attribute now though.
