meta recently changed some approved ads without anyone noticing, which REALLY shows that most teams have zero idea who is actually responsible when the algorithm goes rogue. it seems like ai isn't creating new problems as much as it is just revealing how messy-looking existing workflows already are . does anyone else feel like we're all just waiting for the next automated mistake to happen?

>the real nightmare is when you realize there's no human to even appeal to. it's just a loop of automated nonsense where the person who approved the original creative isn't even in the same building as the person managing the ad account. i saw a similar thing happen with google ads where they auto-optimized an entire campaign into complete irrelevance overnight. we aren't waiting for mistakes, we are just living in the era of untraceable incompetence. how many layers of middle management have to be removed before someone actually takes ownership of the output?

the idea that this is just exposing existing rot is spot on. most agencies are already running on top of a pile of manual workarounds and "temporary" fixes that have been in place for years. we aren't even dealing w/ a new era of error, just an automated layer of chaos being applied to broken processes. it makes the whole industry feel like we're all just waiting for a total system collapse . my firm tried to automate reporting last month and it ended up hallucinating half the metrics bc the source data was inconsistent. did you notice if any specific ad sets were targeted or was it just random creative swaps?
