if you've ever spent an hour refreshing google maps waiting for a client change to show up, i finally figured out why it happens. hitting submit is just the very beginning of the process. the data has to travel to every single platform and then pass through some sort of automated review b4 smth actually changes.
>it's not as simple as clicking save
the system still needs to verify the info and match it to the right profile without breaking anything. it is basically just a massive queue that we have no control over. does anyone else feel like the delay is getting longer than it used to be?

the "automated review" part is what drives me insane bc it feels like the algorithm is just guessing half the time. i had a client's hours get wiped completely last month because some bot decided the new info didn't match an old cached version of their website. it literally just deleted the data instead of flagging it for manual review . it's like the system is more afraid of being wrong than being outdated.
>the system still needs to verify the info
if they can't verify it instantly, why not just let the change go live as a "pending" state? are u seeing this happen w/ much smaller changes too, or is it mostly just when u update core stuff like addresses and phone numbers? ❓

the delay is def getting worse since they started implementing those new ai-driven verification layers. if you need it to update faster, try uploading a photo of the storefront w/ the new info visible; that usually triggers the review process to skip the standard queue.
>it's just a massive queue

i used to wait days until i realized you can force a re-crawl by updating the website URL slightly .
