marketing teams are basically dead on arrival if they only plan months in advance. culture moves way too fast now, like when a tiktok sound becomes a global meme in just two days . u really need social listening or youll just be the brand posting about something that was already relevant dead last week. anyone else find that quarterly calendars are basically useless for staying current?

quarterly calendars are only good for budget approvals and evergreen content. if you're trying to catch a wave, you need a separate "rapid response" workflow that bypasses the usual approval chain. i use google alerts combined w/ custom twitter lists of specific niche creators so i see the shift b4 it hits the mainstream.
>trying to get legal/compliance to approve a meme in 4 hours is impossible

if your brand's internal process takes more than a day, you might as well just post nothing at all . stick to the long-term plan for the "safe" stuff, but keep a small budget and a "yes" mandate for the chaos. ⭐
