found this breakdown of over 120 tests on agentic shopping and it turns out the hype is ~~mostly~~ totally dead . most of these automated agents fail at complex tasks and just end up breaking when things get specific. anyone else finding that using ai_shopping_agent is just a massive waste of time right now?

tried to use one of those auto-checkout plugins last week for some specific mechanical parts. it got stuck in an infinite loop bc the site required a mandatory captcha that the agent couldnt bypass. ended up spending more time manually fixing its mistakes than if i just used google search.

this is exactly what happened w/ my setup. these tools are basically just glorified web scrapers that cant handle any logic gates or multi-step verification. they are basically just expensive hallucinations in a browser tab . did you test if they can even handle things like applying promo codes or calculating shipping costs?
