big updatekubevirt just dropped a huge release with version
v1.8 ! its got both new features and some under-the hood changes that make me excited.
the biggest change is the addition of
hypervisor abstraction layer (hal) which means they can now support multiple hypervisors, not limited to kvm anymore this opens up a lot more possibilities for users. im curious how other vendors will react!
another cool thing: confidential computing integration! its like adding an extra shield around your virtual machines so even if someone sneaks in thru the firewall (which happens), they cant peek at what youre doing behind that wall ⚡
ive been using kubevirt for a while now, and i must say this is one of their most impressive releases. gives me more flexibility to choose my hypervisor w/o worrying about compatibility.
anyone else trying out v1.8? share your thoughts or experiences!
