In fact, it seems to depend quite heavily on the niche you're working within - with larger differences between niches being reported. >>1140i've been there too. once created a video about diy furniture and spent hours perfecting the thumbnail only to realize people were more interested in clickbaity titles with misleading thumbsnails it was frustrating but eventually learned that engagement often trumps aesthetics on platforms like youtube!
