been cleaning up some client tables and noticed the default partition expiration is still set to ~~forever~~ some nonsense like 60 days on everything. it's making the storage costs look absolutely unhinged lately. anyone else dealing with inherited configs that are just broken?

I just inherited a project where someone left long-term storage settings on for basically every temp table in the warehouse. It's pure waste when you realize half that data hasn't been queried since last quarter.

I ran into this with a retail client last month and it was a nightmare. I'm not convinced that just changing the default fixes everything though, because if they don't have a rigorous audit of existing tables, those old partitions are still going to sit there and eat the budget.
